SSL Certificates
Make your website trustworthy and secure with an encrypted connection between server and web browser.
Protect your website with the right SSL Certificate.
Show customers you care about their privacy and data with a secure and encrypted site.
Many certificate providers will offer a domain validation as a free security measure before charging a fee for a full certificate. In many cases, all you need is a custom meta tag added to your website’s head section.
At 3essentials Hosting we work with top Certificate Authorities to provide fast approval so you can start generating revenue as soon as possible.
There are three types of certificates available: single-domain, multi-domain and wildcard SSL certificates.
Why you should have an SSL Certificate.
- Our premium certificates help increase user confidence by showing you’ve secured your online identity by being validated by an industry-recognized Certificate Authority. Your SSL certificate indicates to customers and search engines that your business is committed to protecting their information online.
- When a website doesn’t have an SSL certificate, the website is flagged as “Not Secure.” which can deter users from opening the site.
- Major search engines confirm that secured sites will be favored and receive better search result rankings for following best practices.
- Using an SSL certificate provides the strongest protection for online businesses, including standards and regulations such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR and more.

Certificates are designed to make information private and safe. They accomplish this using a series of complicated technology which you can break down into three categories:
Domain Validation (DV) is the lowest level of validation that uses something called a WHOIS database - which anyone can access for free - to confirm who registered the domain name associated with this Certificate.
Organization Validation (OV) is used when an organization would like someone other than themselves to verify their identity. It also includes different security measures such as encrypted emails, phone calls, faxes, etc., from both the company requesting verification and from the company being verified.
Extended Validation Certificates take things one step further by requiring multiple types of information about its owners including background records, business documentation such as articles of incorporation, meeting minutes or financial statements; depending on what country it's being issued in and what options are available under local law.
Choosing the right option may be a preference, or may be regulated based on your business. Our team of experts is available to help you determine the best option for your specific needs.
To start, the first thing to look at is how many domains you’re looking to secure. For single SSL certifications for multiple domains there are two main options, Wildcard SSL and SAN SSL. With both options the benefits will depend on your specific needs.
For websites with multiple subdomains, generally the Wildcard SSL will meet your needs.
For sites with multiple domains, such as a .com and a .net, a SAN SSL will be the right choice.
For single domains the choice is easy and a single domain SSL is the option for you. These certificates will ensure your site is accessible of HTTPS.
While all of this can be confusing, our SSL Experts are available to help you make the right choice for your sites.
